Protestants hold that the Bible is the sole infallible rule of Christian faith. Does the Bible teach as much? And does the Protestant doctrine of sola scriptura line up with Christ’s plan for his Church? That’s what we’re going to get into.

In a video Redeemed Zoomer released 3 months ago titled, "The gay jew who CHANGED Catholic theology (Gregory Baum)," he talks about Vatican IIs Nostra Aetate and other magisterial Church documents. Does he represent these documents correctly? Stay tuned to find out.

In this Sunday’s liturgy—the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time—we hear the parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard, found in Matthew’s gospel chapter 20. As is the case with all of Jesus’s parables, this one is interesting and filled with layers of meaning.

In this episode, we look at an essay on Ecclesia Antiqua’s Substack page, written by C’Zar Bernstein. His essay presents what he calls “The Protestant Dilemma: Why Protestants Must Rely on Catholic Bishops for Their New Testament.”

Wes Huff released a video some time in the past in which he gave six reasons for why he's not "Roman Catholic." One of those reasons is his rejection of papal supremacy. In this video, I debunk his claims and show that he does not fairly and adequately evaluate the evidence in Scripture and in the early centuries of the Church.

This episode discusses the concept of “catholic guilt.” Maybe, as a Catholic and Christian, you feel guilty for past sins. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? On the other hand, maybe you’ve heard someone accuse Catholics of feeling guilty for past sins because they don’t have enough faith in Christ’s mercy. These are some of the things we’ll discuss.

The voice you heard at the beginning is Richard Ackerman, known as Redeemed Zoomer. He is a Presbyterian and has a large YouTube channel with about 700 thousand subscribers. In this episode, I respond to what he says is his biggest reason for why he’s not Catholic. By the way, this episode is an audio version of a video I produced on my own YouTube channel. So, if you want to watch that video and see some of the quotes I provide from Church Father’s and saints, you can go to YouTube and find it. If you search on YouTube for Deacon Frederick Bartels, it will get you there. I’ll also place a link to my video in the show notes.

All Christians believe that Jesus is God in the flesh. But few take the time to learn more about what that really means. We might believe that Jesus is God and man and that he is the Lord. And that’s all well and good. But if we don’t dig deeper into the theological meaning of these beliefs, we’re not going to really understand who Jesus is. So, what does it mean to say that Jesus is God in the flesh? That’s what we’ll talk about in this episode.

Is the human conscience kind of like those old Disney cartoons, where there’s an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other, and you feel caught in the middle, confused and unsure, listening to them argue back and forth? Or is it something else?
In this episode, we’ll explore what the conscience is, some errors to avoid, and why it’s essential to educate it.

The voice you just heard is from a video clip of Mike Winger. Mike is a Protestant Christian who doesn’t think that there’s evidence for the office of the pope or the papacy in the bible. He’s one among many thousands of other Protestant Christians who have similar views. But is it true that there is no evidence for the office of the pope in the bible? No, it’s not. There’s actually lots of evidence for the papacy, given the strong biblical evidence in favor of Peter’s leadership role in the Church. Although the word “pope” does not appear in the bible, neither does the word “trinity.” So, absence of the word “pope” in the bible does not equal absence of evidence for the papacy. The bottom line is that if the papacy is true, one ought to be Catholic. If it’s not true, one might as well be a bible alone Christian.
In this episode, we’ll discuss some of the biblical evidence for the office of the pope as leader of the Church. To do that we’ll listen to some video clips from a few Protestant Christians and I’ll offer some comments as we go along.
